Relief Distributed to Erosion & Waterlogging Victims in Kalia, Narail

The local administration and Narail-1 MP Biswas Jahangir Alam distributed emergency food assistance to 80 families impacted by severe river erosion and waterlogging in Kalia upazila on Thursday.

The relief effort supported vulnerable residents in the Naragati area specifically targeting 45 families in Chorkhali village (Khashial Union) and 35 families in Panipara village (Joynagar Union). Each affected family received a comprehensive food package containing 10 kg of rice, 1 kg of lentils, 1 kg of salt, 1 kg of sugar, 1 liter of soybean oil and essential spices.

Speaking at the distribution event MP Jahangir Alam assured victims of continuous government support. "No helpless family will be left alone" he said, emphasizing that all relevant departments are working in coordination to deliver aid. He also noted that long-term and sustainable measures to prevent future river erosion are being discussed with higher authorities.

Kalia Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Jinnatul Islam attended alongside Project Implementation Officer (PIO) Md. Mostafa Kamal and local representatives reaffirmed the administration's commitment to rapid disaster response.

"We are monitoring the situation regularly. It is our responsibility to provide swift assistance and more aid will be distributed as needed" UNO Islam stated and ensuring that no affected family is overlooked during this crisis.
