Voluntary organization Dream Touch Bangladesh distributed corrugated tin and cooking utensils to flood victims in Banshkhali Chittagong as part of its ongoing rehabilitation efforts.
The relief materials were handed out Thursday (July 23) afternoon in the Nuinya Pukurpar area of Bailchhari Union (Ward 3) to help families whose homes were damaged by recent hill slopes and heavy rainfall.
"The recent floods destroyed many homes in Banshkhali leaving families without shelter," said Crown Nipa founding director of Dream Touch Bangladesh. "It is our moral responsibility to stand by the affected people. While this assistance cannot replace everything they have lost we hope these materials help them rebuild and get back on their feet."
Local officials and community leaders attended the distribution event including Banshkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rabiul Haque Sub-Inspector Arif Hossain and Upazila Jubo Dal leader Helal Uddin.
