


Salahuddin a 40-year-old local Juba Dal leader was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Mirsarai Chittagong on Thursday afternoon.
The accident occurred in the Muslim Chattar area along the National Special Economic Zone road. Salahuddin, joint secretary of the Saherkhali Union Juba Dal and a resident of Banglapara village, was riding a motorcycle toward the economic zone.
According to locals Salahuddin lost control of his motorcycle near Abutorab Bazar. He collided with a Chittagong-bound Seven Ring Cement truck and a pickup van belonging to Chattogram Online Internet Connection. He died on the spot.
Mirsarai Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Farida Yasmin confirmed the incident, stating that police recovered the body and sent it to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for an autopsy. "Legal proceedings will follow," she added.
SM Sumon Chief Coordinator of Mirsarai Upazila Juba Dal expressed deep sorrow over the sudden loss noting that Salahuddin's death has cast a shadow of grief over the local political community.
