PM Tarique Rahman Opens FICCI FDI Conference 2026

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the FICCI FDI Conference 2026 on Thursday emphasizing the government's commitment to attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) to boost job creation and accelerate economic growth.

Organized by the Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the day-long event—titled "FICCI FDI Conference 2026 Driving Foreign Investment for Jobs and Prosperity in Bangladesh"—was held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre (BCFCC). Prior to the formal opening the Prime Minister visited the Investors' Expo to interact with corporate and organizational representatives.

This conference comes at a critical juncture as Bangladesh prepares to graduate from the Least Developed Country (LDC) category. Organizers noted that closer collaboration between policymakers and investors is vital to sustain economic momentum and strengthen the country's investment climate in the post-LDC era.

Approximately 600 delegates including senior government officials diplomats multinational executives and business leaders gathered to discuss improving Bangladesh's competitiveness and easing business operations.

A major highlight of the event was the unveiling of the FICCI FDI Report which provides strategic analyses and recommendations for policy reforms. The event ultimately aimed to address the current challenges faced by multinational companies highlight the contributions of foreign investors and create a more business-friendly environment.
