Brazilian Midfielder Casemiro Joins Inter Miami of Major League Soccer

Inter Miami confirmed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Casemiro on Wednesday but Major League Soccer is now investigating whether the reigning champions tampered to secure the deal.

The 34-year-old played all five of Brazil's matches at this year's World Cup and scored once has signed with Inter Miami through next year's sprint season with an option to extend until June 2029.

His discovery rights belonged to LA Galaxy questioning league rules should have barred Inter Miami from negotiating with him. The two clubs reached a settlement allowing the transfer to proceed but MLS is still probing the tampering allegation.

"The league is gathering all relevant information and will refrain from further comment until the review is complete" MLS said in a statement also that settlement terms will be disclosed once the investigation concludes.

It remains unclear when Casemiro will make his Inter Miami debut as the club says he is still awaiting a visa.

Casemiro spent the last four seasons at Manchester United, following a decorated career at Real Madrid and he won five Champions League titles.

Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham welcomed the signing also said Casemiro a proven winner with an outstanding record at both Real Madrid and Manchester United and he was pleased the midfielder had chosen Miami as his next destination.
