Autobike Crash Kills Driver in Pabna, Two Passengers Injured

An autobike driver was killed and two passengers were injured after the vehicle lost control in Santhia upazila of Pabna on Friday morning.

The accident occurred around 9:00 am at Chowk Nandanpur on the Santhia–Madhpur regional road.

The deceased was identified as Liaquat Ali Mandal Hedai, 45, son of the late Sirajul Ali Mandal of Uttar Sholabaria village under Nandanpur union.

According to family members, Liaquat was driving his autobike from Boyalmari Bazar towards Santhia with passengers. When the vehicle reached Chowk Nandanpur, its front wheel reportedly came off, causing the autobike to overturn. Liaquat suffered severe head injuries after being crushed under the vehicle.

Local people rushed him to the Santhia Upazila Health Complex in critical condition, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. Two passengers travelling in the autobike were injured and admitted to the same hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Santhia Police Station Rafiqul Islam said police reached the spot after receiving the report, recovered the body, and handed it over to the family. “No complaint has been filed in connection with the incident so far,” he added.
