


Police arrested two Indian nationals and a Bangladeshi youth in the Balarhat area of Phulbari Upazila, Kurigram, recovering Yaba tablets from them, law enforcement officials said.
The arrest took place on Friday (February 27) afternoon near the Purba Fulmati Balarhat border of Naodanga Union. The trio was caught red-handed for illegal border infiltration. Yaba tablets were recovered from the Bangladeshi youth following a body search.
The arrested are Akhirul Khandaker (22), son of Sayeed Khandaker, from Nattabari area, Dinhata police station, Cooch Behar district, India. Faruk Mia (22), son of Jamir Ali, from Kishamat Karla area, Sahebganj police station, Cooch Behar district, India and Aynal Haque (26), son of Manser Ali, from Khalishakothal area, Naodanga Union, Phulbari Upazila.
Officer-in-Charge of Phulbari Police Station, Mahmud Hasan Naeem, confirmed that the arrested individuals are being interrogated and legal action is underway.
Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Mehedi Imam, 15 BGB Commander in Lalmonirhat, said the two Indian nationals’ case has been reported to the Border Security Force (BSF). They will be handed over after completing the required formalities.
