


BGB Nitpur BOP patrol members have arrested a drug dealer named Israfil (24) with Indian Tapentadol tablets at Nitpur border in Porsha, Naogaon. He is the son of Bazlur Rahman of Kalaibari Rangapukur village.
On Monday, based on information from RIB, SIP and civil sources, the 16th BGB Naogaon Battalion, Nitpur BOP, was arrested along with 1,080 Indian Tapentadol tablets from a mustard field next to the bridge at Battali Rangapukur field in Rangapukur village, approximately 500 yards inside Bangladesh.
A mobile phone was recovered from him. Meanwhile, Rahmat (20), son of Shahidul Islam of Rangapukur village, and Rezaul (35), son of Maqbul, escaped. A special patrol team led by Patrol Commander Subedar Mahfuzur Rahman conducted the operation.
The value of the seized Indian Tapentadol tablets is 1 lakh 62 thousand taka. Subedar Mahfuzur Rahman confirmed that a case has been registered in this regard at the police station and the seized goods have been handed over to Porsha police station along with the accused. On the other hand, a special patrol team led by Nitpur BOP Patrol Commander Havildar Nazrul Islam conducted an operation at a place called Tektha early on Tuesday and seized 02 Indian cows without an owner.
The seized 02 Indian cows were deposited at the Patitala customs office on the same day. Naogaon Battalion (16 BGB) Acting Commander and Additional Director Major Tanim Hasan Khan, SPP, PSC, confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the all-out operation against cattle/drug smuggling/illegal border crossing and smuggling on the Naogaon and Chapainawabganj borders is ongoing and will continue.
