


Two top terrorists and drug dealers have been arrested in a special operation by the joint force in Louhjang upazila of Munshiganj. During this, a large amount of illegal firearms and drugs and cash were recovered from them.
The arrested are Nurul Amin Bullet (37) and Sukumar Howlader (38). They are residents of Kandipara in Jashaldia area of Medenimondal union of Louhjang upazila. Law enforcement agencies claim that they are identified terrorists and drug dealers in that area.
The press release said that a raid was conducted in the Jashaldia area at around 5 am on Friday (January 31) under the leadership of the Louhjang Army Camp under the Headquarters 99 Composite Brigade based on secret information. Two terrorists were arrested in the operation.
At that time, a 7.65 mm. TT-33 illegal pistol, one magazine, four rounds of bullets, five kg of marijuana, 50 grams of heroin, 50 grams of opium, 14 pieces of phensedyl, eight mobile phones, two domestic sharp weapons and 14 thousand taka in cash for drug sales were recovered.
The Bangladesh Army said that a special operation has been intensified to prevent violence, sabotage and criminal activities in view of the upcoming national elections. This operation was conducted as part of this.
Later, the arrested persons and the recovered evidence were handed over to the Louhajang Police Station for legal action.
The press release further said that the army is determined to control the law and order situation in Munshiganj district. The operation against terrorism, sabotage and illegal drug trade will continue in the future. In addition, the general public has been urged to provide information to the nearest army camp about any suspicious activities.
