


A college student who was sitting in a CNG car was hacked and stabbed to death by miscreants in Sirajganj city.
The incident took place on Sunday afternoon at Bahirgola Road at the city's crossroads. Police have arrested one person in the incident.
The deceased, Abdur Rahman (20), is the son of Rezaul Karim of Sayadhangara Khanpara Mohalla in the city and a first-year HSC student of Sirajganj Islamia Government College. The deceased Abdur Rahman was a member of the district committee of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement.
CCTV footage shows Abdur Rahman sitting in a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw. At that time, some youths attacked Abdur Rahman with sharp weapons from the front and back and fled.
Abdur Rahman's uncle Sohag said, "In the evening, we received a call from the hospital that Abdur Rahman was admitted there. We quickly went to the hospital and found that he was dead. He also said, "As far as I know, some youths hacked him and ran away. Later, locals rescued him and admitted him to Shaheed M Mansur Ali Medical College Hospital. We cannot say who killed him and for what reason."
Sirajganj Police Superintendent Saiful Islam Santu said, "One person has already been arrested. He has confessed to his involvement. However, the reason for the murder is being questioned."
