A view exchange meeting was held on Thursday evening at the Pabna Press Club where the newly appointed Police Superintendent (SP), Md. Anwar Zahid, interacted with local journalists.
The SP stated that his main goals are good conduct and strict enforcement of the law. He acknowledged that the major challenge for the current police force is to restore order and enforce the law against growing challenges. He emphasized the need for cooperation from the public, public representatives, public administration, and people from all walks of life to implement this.
Despite limitations, the police force is performing its duties 24 hours a day at the field level, and the goal is to improve law and order within the bounds of the law. The SP asserted that the police are disciplined and committed to ensuring fair, peaceful, and impartial elections (scheduled for February 12). He stressed that law and order forces are working to ensure a secure environment where citizens who "dream will vote," and they remain vigilant to prevent sabotage or unpleasant incidents.
He answered various questions from journalists concerning issues such as juvenile gangs, drugs, robbery, and terrorism. Attendees, including former Press Club presidents and other distinguished speakers, advised the police force.
Maintain Impartiality not to become "slaves of the party." Learn from the Past to move forward with previous lessons. To play a leading role in enforcing law and order and safeguarding the lives and property of the people.
The event was moderated by Yad Ali Mridha Pavel, the club's Literary and Cultural Secretary, and presided over by Pabna Press Club President Akhtaruzzaman Akhtar.
