


In a significant drug bust, police in Chattogram city recovered approximately 100,000 pieces of yaba (methamphetamine tablets) after the driver of a private car fled a checkpost, abandoning his vehicle.
The incident occurred on Thursday night (November 13) in the Fisherighat area under the Kotwali police station. Kotwali Zone Assistant Police Commissioner (AC) Noor Al Mahmud stated that police had set up a temporary checkpost in the area on Thursday evening.
When the private car approached the police presence, the driver sensed danger, immediately fled the scene, and left the car behind.
Upon searching the seized private car, officers discovered 10 packets of yaba. Each packet is estimated to contain 10,000 yaba tablets, bringing the total recovered amount to around 100,000 pieces. Authorities have initiated legal action regarding the incident, and the investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the fleeing driver.
