


At least 10 people were injured in a clash between two groups on Eid morning in Faridpur’s Bhanga upazila.
The incident took place in Gopinathpur village under Hamirdi union on Saturday, following a long-standing dispute over local dominance.
According to locals, supporters of Ismail Munshi and Chunnu Mia engaged in the clash shortly after Eid prayers. The violence continued for nearly two hours, from 9am to 11am, involving chases and counter-chases.
Both sides reportedly used locally made weapons. During the clash, around 10 to 12 houses were vandalised and looted.
Police rushed to the scene after receiving information and brought the situation under control. Several crude weapons were recovered.
Tension had been building since an earlier clash between the same groups on March 19, when at least 12 people were injured.
Officer-in-Charge of Bhanga Police Station, Md. Mizanur Rahman, confirmed the incident. He said the Conflict occurred over local influence after Eid prayers and that legal action is being prepared.
