Prime Minister Tarique Rahman released a commemorative postage stamp today (July 5) to mark National Rural Development Day 2026. The ceremony, held at the Secretariat at 9:30 am, included the unveiling of a Tk10 stamp, a first-day cover, and a Tk5 data card.
Although the stamp was released today, the official day will be observed nationwide tomorrow, July 6. This year’s theme is: "Developed Villages, Prosperous Nation; Bangladesh First".
The event was attended by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, alongside State Minister Mir Shahe Alam and Ministry Secretary Md Shahidul Hasan.
Every year, Bangladesh Post issues these commemorative items to honor the rural sector's vital contribution to the national economy. The initiative also serves to raise public awareness about the ongoing efforts to transform rural communities
