


Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, received a red-carpet welcome and a guard of honor upon arriving at Beijing's Chauming Railway Station at 5:35 p.m. local time on Wednesday (June 24).
A special motorcade escorted the Prime Minister to the Diaoyutai State Guest House, where he and his delegation will stay during their visit to the Chinese capital. Earlier in the day, Rahman departed Dalian North Railway Station via high-speed train at 1:58 p.m.
The Prime Minister’s delegation includes Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman; State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit; Foreign Affairs Advisor Humayun Kabir; Overseas Employment Advisor Mahdi Amin; Defense Advisor Brig. Gen. (Retd.) Dr. AKM Shamsul Islam; and key press officials.
Before heading to Beijing on Wednesday morning, the Prime Minister attended the World Economic Forum's (WEF) "Summer Davos" annual meeting at the Dalian International Conference Center. He originally arrived in Dalian on Monday, following a two-day official visit to Malaysia.
This trip marks Rahman's first official tour of Malaysia and China since assuming office on February 17, following his party's absolute majority win in Bangladesh's 13th National Assembly elections.
