Advisor Mostafa Sarwar Farooqui said, “The youth of Bangladesh are curious and creative. If this creativity can be connected through a safe and reliable way, it is possible to solve the problem and the practice of innovation. TikTok’s stem feed can make learning interesting.”
TikTok and government representatives announced the launch of the feature at a ceremony in Dhaka on Monday. Cultural affairs ministry adviser Mostafa Sarwar Farooqui was the chief guest. Senior government officials, academics and representatives of TikTok were present on the occasion.
He expressed the hope that the students will get reliable content in the STEM feed. They said that students in urban-villeged or underprivileged areas will also be able to get quality education through digital means. TikTok has launched the hashtag #STEMTok. This will allow the content to be created in the local language.
Stem feed will be arranged with educational and age-appropriate content. TikTok has said that the initiative will play an important role in the journey of digital education in the country.
“Stem feed will make education easier, attractive and safer,” said Ferdous Mottakin, head of TikTok’s South Asian public policy department. Working with parents, teachers and policymakers, we want to empower young people and ensure digital inclusion.”
TikTok has already introduced features, including ‘Family Pairing’, ‘Time-Away Schedule’, ‘Tin Network Vicibility’, and other features for the security of users.
