Islamic Shasantantra Movement Backs Shahinur Pasha in Sunamganj-3

In a significant shift for the Sunamganj-3 (Jagannathpur-Shantiganj) constituency, leaders of the Islamic Shasantantra Movement have officially declared their support for Advocate Maulana Shahinur Pasha Chowdhury. The announcement was made during a public meeting at Noakhali Bazar in Shantiganj on Tuesday afternoon.

Maulana Shahinur Pasha Chowdhury, the Central Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, is contesting as the 11-party alliance candidate under the 'Rickshaw' symbol.

Qari Muhibbul Haque, Vice President of the Islamic Shasantantra Movement’s Sunamganj District unit, explained that since their party has no candidate in this constituency, they are backing Chowdhury to ensure regional development and show respect to the local Alim community. District Secretary Maulana Sohel Ahmed added that the party has moved past previous prejudices to work toward a unified victory.

Expressing his gratitude, Shahinur Pasha Chowdhury stated that the support of his "religious brothers" proves a growing unity among local Islamic leadership. He pledged to honor this trust if elected. Following the meeting, activists from both parties distributed leaflets and conducted a road show at Nurpur Point, Shimulbak Union, to mobilize voters ahead of the upcoming polls.
