The Shantiganj Upazila branch of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis held its monthly executive meeting on Saturday at the party's temporary office in Shantiganj Bazar. Presided over by Upazila President Kazi Maulana Mohammad Jamirul Islam Momtaz, the meeting focused on the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections.

The local leadership addressed recent confusion regarding the Sunamganj-3 (Shantiganj-Jagannathpur) constituency. They noted that during an 11-party electoral alliance press conference last Thursday, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis was allotted 20 seats, including Sunamganj-3 for Maulana Shahinur Pasha Chowdhury.

However, subsequent social media reports suggested the seat might be kept "open" for multiple alliance candidates.

The Shantiganj branch leaders formally demanded that Maulana Shahinur Pasha Chowdhury, the Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, be declared the sole candidate for the 11-party alliance in Sunamganj-3.

The leaders urged top alliance figures, including Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and Khelafat Majlis Ameer Allama Mamunul Haque, to finalize this decision to ensure alliance unity in the upcoming polls.

The meeting was attended by senior upazila leaders, including General Secretary Maulana Azir Uddin, Vice Presidents Maulana Abdul Wadud Hossaini and Hafiz Maulana Nazulul Islam, and other executive members.
