Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has unveiled its election manifesto for the upcoming national polls, promising a “safe and humane” nation built on 26 priority areas of governance.

The document was formally presented by party chief Dr. Shafiqur Rahman on Wednesday evening at the Hotel Sheraton in Banani. Jamaat is contesting the elections as part of an 11-party alliance, which includes the National Citizen Party (NCP) and the Bangladesh Labour Party.

Titled "Manifesto for a Safe and Humane Bangladesh," the document outlines plans for state reform grouped under 10 broad commitments. Key pledges are: Welfare & Healthcare: Free healthcare for citizens over 60 and children under 5. Labor & Youth: Replacing unemployment allowances with job creation, and ensuring state-funded repatriation for the bodies of expatriates. Governance: A zero-tolerance policy toward corruption and a "people-friendly" business environment. Education: Interest-free loans for 500,000 graduates to support them until employment.

During his speech, Shafiqur Rahman emphasized inclusivity, stating, "I do not seek Jamaat’s victory; I seek the victory of 180 million people." He described the manifesto as a "living document" shaped by public opinion from the grassroots to the national level.

Addressing recent backlash over a social media post labeled by critics as "misogynistic," Shafiqur rejected the "politics of revenge."

"I am like a wounded bird now," he said, noting that he had forgiven his detractors. "If I cannot forgive others, how will I ask forgiveness for my own mistakes?"

He concluded by criticizing the previous government’s record on money laundering and corruption, vowing that a Jamaat-led administration would prioritize justice and fairness. The event was attended by various political leaders, diplomats, and professional representatives.
