


Manab Kalyan Trust, a specialized rehabilitation and educational facility for orphans and children with disabilities, held its advisory conference on Wednesday.
The meeting focused on reviewing the trust’s welfare activities and securing funding for its ongoing residential projects.
Under the direction of the institution's Vice Chairman Assistant Professor Alhaj Dr. Alamgir Hossain, former principal of Kushtia Medical College Dr. Iftekhar Mahmud, eminent physician Dr. Abdul Baten Molla, former superintendent of PTI Jalal Uddin Ahmed, Dawood & Co. proprietor Jahangir Hossain, retired government official Abu Saleh Md. Hasinur Rahman Jhantu and head teacher of Manab Kalyan Trust Alhaj Hafez Mao. Abdur Rashid were present.
Treasurer of Pabna Press Club Abul Kalam Azad and executive member Arif Ahmed Siddiqui and people from various walks of life were present.
The program was moderated by assistant head teacher of Manab Kalyan Trust Educational Institution Qari Mao. Abdul Malek.
The conference highlighted that the institution currently provides free education and housing to 148 students from 22 districts. This includes visually impaired students learning through the Braille system, physically disabled children, and orphans.
During the session, the board discussed the progress of a new orphanage construction project and the management of zakat and donations for the upcoming month of Ramadan. "The institution requires approximately 5 lakh taka per month to operate," Professor Abul Hossain stated, appealing to the nation's wealthy and charitable citizens for continued support.
Notable attendees included Pabna Press Club President Akhtaruzzaman Akhtar and former principal of Kushtia Medical College, Dr. Iftekhar Mahmud.
The event began with Quranic recitations and performances by the students, showcasing the progress of those under the trust's care.
