Jute Mill Security Guard Killed in Bheramara Road Accident

A security guard was killed on Tuesday after being hit by a covered van on the Kushtia-Bheramara highway. The accident occurred in the 12-mile area (near Sahar Oil Pump) while the victim was cycling to work.

The deceased, Adam Ali Biswas (55), was the son of Golzar Gain of Naodakhadimpur, Mirpur upazila. He served as a security guard at Al-Amin Jute Mill Limited.

Eyewitnesses reported that a covered van belonging to PRAN Company, traveling from Kushtia to Bheramara, ran over Adam Ali as he was crossing the road. He died instantly at the scene. While the vehicle initially attempted to flee, law enforcement later intercepted it.

Abu Obaid, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kushtia Chaukhari Highway Police Station, confirmed the incident, stating, "We have seized the covered van and detained the driver. Legal action is underway."

Muhammad Jahedur Rahman, OC of Bheramara Police Station, added that police teams were dispatched immediately following the accident. Legal formalities are being finalized in coordination with the Highway Police.
