


The Bangladesh Krira Shiksha Sangstha (BKSP) held a district-level player selection program at Kurigram District Stadium on March 30, 2026, under its grassroots talent search and intensive training program.
A team of BKSP coaches conducted the selection across multiple disciplines. The team included senior and departmental coaches from swimming, judo, athletics, football, hockey, boxing, basketball, taekwondo, archery, karate, cricket, and volleyball.
The program aims to identify talented boys and girls aged 8 to 14 in 21 sports, including archery, athletics, basketball, cricket, football, hockey, judo, karate, shooting, taekwondo, table tennis, volleyball, squash, kabaddi, weightlifting, and badminton. Boxing is excluded for this age group.
Selected players will undergo a two փուլ training process
First phase Around 1,000 players will receive one month of training at BKSP Dhaka and regional centers.
Second phase From this group, 400 players will be selected for an additional two months of advanced training.
Before selection, players will be assessed based on age verification, physical fitness, and sport-specific skills.
BKSP will cover accommodation, transport, equipment, and other necessary expenses during the training camps. All participants will receive certificates upon completion.
Local sports organizer Jalal Hossain Laiju welcomed the initiative, saying it will help discover quality players from rural areas like Kurigram.
