A mobile court in Daganbhuiyan, Feni, fined two brick kilns Tk 2 lakh and disconnected their power supply on Sunday (March 30) for operating without valid licenses or environmental clearances.

The drive, led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md. Shahidul Alam, targeted Daganbhuiyan Bricks and Siraj Bricks. Each establishment was fined Tk 1 lakh for violating Section 4 of the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act, 2013. Authorities also cut the electricity connections to both sites to halt illegal operations.

In a simultaneous inspection at a local filling station, the mobile court verified the credentials of motorcyclists. Two individuals were fined Tk 1,000 under the Road Transport Act, 2018, for driving without valid licenses.

Magistrate Md. Shahidul Alam stated that such enforcement actions would continue to protect the environment and ensure public safety.
