The final match of the Shahid Abu Sayeed Memorial Chinese Football Tournament was held in a festive atmosphere at Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat on Saturday (October 11). The match took place at the Kashiram Karimpur Madrasa field.
Football enthusiasts from the local and surrounding areas gathered to enjoy the exciting final. In a thrilling contest, Guratitari Fighters clinched the championship title by defeating Chowdhury Mor Sports by 2–0 in a tie-breaker.
After the match, Naeemul Islam Nayeem, former president of the Rajshahi University Student Rights Council, handed over the prizes to the champion and runner-up teams. Nazmul Huda Ansari Dalu, member of Ward No. 3 of Tushbhandar Union Parishad, attended as a special guest.
Also present were Rabiul Islam Robin, former joint convener of Lalmonirhat District Gana Adhikar Parishad, along with sports enthusiasts, organizers, and local dignitaries.
Organizers said the tournament is held every year in memory of Shahid Abu Sayeed to inspire local youth toward sportsmanship and strengthen community bonds
