Legendary Brazilian footballer Marcos Cafu, the only player in history to have appeared in three FIFA World Cup finals, is scheduled to visit Dhaka for two days in December.

The two-time World Cup winner (1994 and 2002) will arrive in the capital to be the special guest at the prize distribution ceremony for the Latin Bangla Super Cup 2025. The international football festival is set to be held at the National Stadium from December 5 to 11.

The tournament, organized by AF Boxing Promotions, will feature three participating teams: club-level teams from Argentina and Brazil, and a Bangladeshi high-performance team comprising the country's top young players. Organizers highlighted Cafu’s presence as the event’s "biggest attraction," intended to inspire local players.

The event, marketed under the slogan "Where the Magic Happens," aims to celebrate the shared enthusiasm for Latin American football and Bangladesh's passionate fan base. In addition to the matches, the festival will feature international-standard fan zones, live music performances, and merchandise corners. The organizers disclosed the full details during a press conference held today at the Hotel InterContinental.
