BNP senior leader Salahuddin Ahmed has called on all political parties to ensure the strict, lawful, and constitutional implementation of the July Charter, warning against any extra-legal moves that could face future judicial challenge.
Speaking at a discussion, the BNP Standing Committee member emphasized that the July Charter a document of political consensus is committed to implementation through an elected national parliament. He announced that the National Consensus Commission will send a proposal to the government to make the next parliament legally bound to implement the charter.
Salahuddin stressed the need to adhere to the rule of law, rejecting emotional suggestions for "revolutionary orders" outside of constitutional processes.
He noted that the legitimacy of the current interim government's formation, through Article 106 and Supreme Court approval, will be confirmed when the next parliament validates its actions and ratifies new laws.
He urged continued anti-fascist national unity among all political forces to prevent the return of fascism, stating that unity is the only strength to move forward and ensure the charter's implementation solidifies a lasting, lawful foundation.
