


A prayer mahfil was held in Phulbari, Dinajpur, to pray for the repose of the soul of three-time former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
The prayer mahfil was organized at the Damar intersection of the upazila after Maghrib on Tuesday (January 13) by the joint initiative of the Betdighi Union BNP of Phulbari Upazila and BNP leader Mejbahul Islam.
Phulbari Upazila BNP President, Dinajpur District BNP Advisor and former Upazila Chairman Principal Khurshid Alam Moti were present as the chief guests at the prayer mahfil.
In the mahfil, special prayers were offered to the Almighty Allah for the eternal peace and Jannatul Firdous of the departed soul of three-time former Prime Minister and national leader Begum Khaleda Zia. The prayers were led by Muhtamim Maulana Sultan Hossain of Betdighi Madrasa.
Upazila BNP Senior Vice President and UP Chairman Principal Nabiul Islam, Upazila BNP Vice President Abdul Majid Mondal, Upazila BNP Member Assistant Professor Samiul Alam, Training Affairs Secretary and Acting Principal Abu Shahid, Office Secretary Mizanur Rahman Mintu, Upazila Volunteer Party Convener Maklesur Rahman Nabab, Upazila Sramik Party General Secretary Abul Hasan Molla, among others, spoke at the mahfil, which was organized in a religiously solemn and peaceful atmosphere.
In addition, leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliates, local religious devotees and people from all walks of life in the area participated in the prayer mahfil. At the end of the prayer mahfil, a collective prayer was held to pray for the forgiveness, peace and Jannatul Firdous of the departed soul of the national leader.
Speaking at the prayer mahfil, Upazila BNP President Principal Khurshid Alam Moti said that in order to implement the ideals of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and implement the 31-point plan to repair the state announced by BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, he called on people to vote for BNP's nominated candidate in Dinajpur-5 constituency, Tarique Rahman's legal advisor Barrister Kamruzzaman, with the symbol of the sheaf of rice.
