BNP, Jamaat and NCP Leaders Share Stage in Rare Show of Unity in Dinajpur's Phulbari

In a rare display of unity amid recent nationwide political tensions, leaders of the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and the National Citizen Party (NCP) shared a stage on Wednesday in Phulbari, Dinajpur.

The gathering took place at the Upazila Parishad auditorium during a state-organized programme marking July Uprising Day. Chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ahmed Hasan, the event featured discussions, student prize distributions and special prayers dedicated to the martyrs of the July movement.

Prominent attendees included Dinajpur BNP adviser Principal Khurshid Alam Mati, district Jamaat leader Manjurul Kader Babu, and acting NCP Dinajpur district member secretary Imran Chowdhury Nishad. Several other local political figures, police officers and civil administration officials were also present.

Local residents and civil society members widely welcomed the joint appearance. Many noted that the peaceful gathering stood in stark contrast to recent confrontational politics and clashes involving the BNP, Jamaat, NCP and their respective student wings in other parts of the country.

For attendees, the shared platform successfully revived the original spirit of unity that defined the July Uprising also sending a powerful and positive message of political coexistence at the grassroots level.
