Ahead of the upcoming referendum, the Atgharia Upazila Administration of Pabna has launched a massive campaign to raise awareness among the public. On this occasion, public awareness leaflets on referendum were distributed and road meetings were held at various important places in the upazila.

Atgharia Upazila Executive Officer Farzana Akhter was present at the implementation of this program. She personally handed over leaflets to the common people and explained in detail about the importance of referendum, the responsibilities of voters and the rules of voting.

During the campaign, Upazila Executive Officer Farzana Akhter said, “Referendum is an important part of a democratic state system. The opinion of the people determines the future of the state. Therefore, every citizen should vote consciously and actively participate in the referendum.” She also said that participation in the referendum is not just a right, it is an important responsibility of citizens. People get the opportunity to express their opinions directly through referendum.

The program was also attended by Abdul Halim, Youth Development Officer of the Upazila Administration, Almas Ali, Deputy Assistant Engineer of the Municipality, Nazmul Haque, Accountant of the Municipality, Abu Bakkar Siddique, High Assistant Ruhul Amin, local public representatives, teachers, journalists and people from different classes and professions. At that time, the interest and enthusiasm of the general public about the referendum was noticeable.

The locals welcomed this initiative of the Upazila Administration and said that through such a campaign, the general public will get a clearer idea about the referendum and will be motivated to exercise their right to vote.
