


The visiting Chairman of Pakistan's Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna on Saturday.
According to the Chief Adviser's Press Wing, the leaders discussed strengthening Bangladesh-Pakistan relations, focusing on bilateral trade, investment, and defense cooperation. General Mirza highlighted the shared historical and cultural ties and noted the vast potential for expanding trade and connectivity, confirming that a two-way Karachi-Chattogram shipping route is operational, with a Dhaka-Karachi air route expected to open soon.
Both leaders also stressed the need to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East and Europe and addressed the shared challenge of misinformation. Chief Adviser Yunus remarked, "Fake news and disinformation have flooded social media.
It is being used to sow chaos. There must be a concerted global effort to combat this menace."
