Mild Quakes Jolt Sylhet: No Damage Reported

Two mild earthquakes struck the Sylhet region early today, five minutes apart, but fortunately caused no reported damage or casualties.

The tremors occurred early today, at 2:50 AM and 2:55 AM. The quakes were centered in the Sylhet and Moulvibazar districts.

First Quake: Time: 2:50 AM Magnitude: 3.5 on the Richter scale. Epicentre: Beanibazar upazila of Sylhet.

Second Quake: Time: 2:55 AM Magnitude: 3.3 on the Richter scale. Epicentre: Barlekha upazila of neighboring Moulvibazar district.

The information was confirmed by Shah Md Sajib Hossain, assistant meteorologist at the Sylhet Met Office, citing the Seismic Observatory Centre of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

As of this morning, there have been no reports of damage or casualties resulting from the late-night tremors.
