


The voting for the 13th National Parliament election is underway in a festive atmosphere. Voters have been voting for their preferred candidates in the capital since 7:30 am, like all over the country. However, although the turnout was comparatively low in the morning, the pressure of voters increased after noon. Long queues were seen at many polling stations.
On Thursday (February 12), such a scene was seen at various polling stations in Dhaka-17 and 18 constituencies in the capital, including Banani Vidyaniketan School and College, Dhaka Cantonment Board Adarsh Vidyaniketan, Uttara Girls High School, and RAJUK Uttara Model College.
It was seen on the ground that voters of all ages, including men and women, started heading to the polling stations after 12 noon. They had to wait in line to vote in some places. The presence of working people was especially noticeable.
Afsana Khanam stood in line to vote at Maleka Banu Adarsh Vidyaniketan polling station. She said that she came to vote at noon because she had family work in the morning. There is a little crowd in the line. However, the atmosphere is calm.
At Uttara Girls High School center, it can be seen that voting is going on in a separate line for female voters. At RAJUK Uttara Model College center, voter turnout also increased after noon. There was enthusiasm among the voters as well. However, there was no chaos anywhere.
Meanwhile, law enforcement officers are active in almost all centers. Surveillance has been strengthened on the way to enter and exit the center. Apart from this, no major untoward incident has been reported anywhere so far. Overall, voter participation in the polling centers of these two constituencies after noon was spontaneous.
Azizul Alam Mridha, the presiding officer in charge of Maleka Banu Adarsh Vidyaniketan center, said that voters have been voting with great enthusiasm since morning. The situation here is very calm. The number of voters doubles in the afternoon compared to the morning. Overall, it can be said that this year's election is going very well.
