NCP calls emergency press conference at noon

The National Citizens Party (NCP) has called an emergency press conference at 2 pm on Thursday (February 12) regarding the overall situation of the ongoing 13th National Parliament elections and referendum across the country and allegations of irregularities in voting.

Yasir Arafat, media secretary of the party's central election management committee, confirmed this information in a message.

The press conference will highlight the party's position on the current election environment and the latest situation at the field level. NCP spokesperson and Central Election Management Committee Chairman Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan will be present as the main speaker at this press conference organized at the temporary central office in the capital.

The NCP has informed that not only the 2 pm press conference, but two more briefings will be held today to highlight the overall picture of the election. Regular press briefings will be held at the party's temporary central office at 5:30 pm and 10 pm.

It is believed that detailed information about the allegations of attacks on supporters and the blocking of NCP candidates' agents' entry to polling stations in different parts of the country since morning may be presented in these press conferences. In view of the concerns expressed by the party, especially in Dhaka-8 and Rangpur-4 constituencies, there has been curiosity in the political circles about whether Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan will make any new announcements.

The party's media secretary Yasir Arafat said that this urgent press conference is very important in light of the information and evidence collected from all over the country and the situation occurring in various polling stations. The NCP will also give its official response on the role of the Election Commission and the impartiality of the administration at the field level.

Asif Mahmud is expected to give an important speech on the experience of participating in the first electoral test of this new political force formed after the August 5 mass uprising and the reflection of public opinion. The party has requested the media personnel to be present at the right time and collect objective news.
