


Police exhumed the body of a 46-year-old pregnant housewife in Bheramara upazila on Sunday following a court order regarding a murder investigation.
The deceased, Monowara Khatun, was eight months pregnant when she died under mysterious circumstances on March 20. She was a resident of the Nawda Khemirdiyar area in Mokarimpur Union. Her second husband, Amin Bepari, went into hiding shortly after her death and remains at large.
Following her death, Monowara's son, Sumon Hossain, filed a murder case in a Kushtia court. The court directed Bheramara Police Station to investigate the allegations and ordered the exhumation of the body.
At noon on Sunday (June 14), investigators recovered the body from the local graveyard in Mokarimpur Union's Ward No. 7. The remains were immediately sent to the Kushtia Sadar Hospital morgue for a forensic autopsy.
The exhumation was conducted in the presence of Bheramara Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Dr. Gazi Ashiq Bahar, alongside Health Complex Medical Officer Dr. Md. Latiful Kabir Limon.
Bheramara Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Rakibul Islam, who is leading the inquiry, confirmed the procedure. "Further legal action will be taken as soon as we receive the official autopsy report," he stated.
