60 kmph Storm Alert Issued for 10 Regions; River Ports Advised to Hoist Signal 1

Squally winds of up to 60 kmph alongside rain or thundershowers are likely to hit ten regions across Bangladesh by Sunday afternoon, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) announced.

According to a weather alert issued for inland river ports valid until 1:00 PM on Sunday (June 14), temporary gusty winds blowing from the east or south-east may affect Tangail, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet.

River ports in these specific areas have been advised to hoist Cautionary Signal Number 1 to ensure the safety of water vessels.
