


The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain and thundershowers across various parts of the country over the next five days due to a fairly active monsoon. Rainfall is expected to intensify further toward the end of the week. The update was confirmed by BMD meteorologist Md. Abdul Hamid Mia on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
Wednesday, June 24 By 9:00 AM on Wednesday, light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds and lightning are expected in many parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions, as well as some areas in Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions. Isolated places may experience moderate to heavy falls. Day and night temperatures will remain largely unchanged.
Thursday, June 25 Over the following 24 hours, the rain will persist in many areas of Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet, and some areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Dhaka. However, by Thursday day-time, rain will shift to fewer places, primarily impacting Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions, with scattered showers in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barisal. Temperatures nationwide may rise slightly.
Friday, June 26 to Saturday, June 27 From Friday morning through Saturday, the trend of scattered rainfall will continue. Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions will see rain at some places, alongside localized moderate to heavy downpours. Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barisal divisions will experience rain at only one or two places. Daytime temperatures are expected to drop slightly during this period, while night temperatures will hold steady.
