Ex-IGP Benazir Ahmed Arrested in Dubai Over ACC Case

Dubai Police have arrested former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed with the assistance of Interpol, acting on a case filed by Bangladesh's Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

A senior official at the Bangladesh Police Headquarters, speaking on the condition of anonymity, confirmed that authorities received official notification of the arrest via a letter on June 12.

The ACC previously filed a corruption case against the former police chief. Using intelligence gathered during the investigation, international cooperation was sought to track and apprehend him. Legal proceedings and further investigations into his alleged accumulation of illegal wealth are currently ongoing
