


A program titled “Grand Eid Reunion and Celebration: Democracy, Development, Harmony and Culture” was organized by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its affiliated organizations in the Dinajpur-5 (Phulbari-Parbatipur) constituency.
The event was held at the Central Bus Terminal in Parbatipur on Saturday evening, June 13, and continued into the night. According to organizers, the program aimed to share the joy of Eid-ul-Azha while promoting democratic values, nationalism, cultural heritage, and social harmony.
Advocate AKM Kamruzzaman Zaman, personal legal adviser to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and former vice-president of BNP UK, attended as the chief guest. Professor Md. Aminul Islam, joint organizational secretary of BNP’s Rangpur Division under the National Executive Committee, spoke as the keynote speaker.
Among those present were Advocate Mofazzal Hossain Dulal, president of Dinajpur District BNP; Advocate Bakhtiar Ahmed Kochi, general secretary; and Khurshid Alam Moti, president of Phulbari Upazila BNP and former upazila chairman. Leaders and activists from BNP, Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, Krishak Dal, and Chhatra Dal at upazila and municipal levels also attended.
The program was chaired by Md. Mominul Islam, acting convener of Parbatipur Upazila Jubo Dal. It was moderated by Abdul Monnaf Mukul, former president of Dinajpur District Jubo Dal and joint organizational secretary of the Central Jubo Dal (Rangpur Division), and Mahabub Rashid Sangram, member secretary of Parbatipur Upazila Jubo Dal and organizational secretary of Upazila BNP.
The event began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem and a special prayer for the welfare of the country and its people. Guests were then introduced and exchanged Eid greetings.
During the discussion session, speakers highlighted local development priorities for Parbatipur and Phulbari, public welfare initiatives, and the importance of strengthening democratic practices.
The cultural segment featured performances by popular singers Monir Khan, Mousumi Akhter Salma, Akash Mahmud, Mahua Muna, and folk artist Sukumar Baul.
Organizers said the event was intended to strengthen political harmony, democratic values, cultural development, and ties between party leaders, activists, and local residents.
