Following the harassment of national cricketer Naeem Hasan, the Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) has withdrawn Khulshi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Arifur Rahman. The incident, where the cricketer was pulled from an autorickshaw and assaulted, has prompted a reshuffle of top officials at two major city police stations.
CMP Commissioner Hasnat Md. Shawkat Ali issued the official transfer order on Saturday night.
Under the new directive, the withdrawn Khulshi OC, Arifur Rahman, has been attached to the CMP Police Lines. Baklia Police Station's current OC, Mohammad Solaiman, will take over as the new OC of Khulshi. Meanwhile, City Special Branch (SB) Inspector Md. Jahedul Kabir has been appointed as the new OC of Baklia Police Station.
According to the official notification, these changes have been made in the public interest and take effect immediately.
