Phulbari Storm Victims Receive Tin and Cash Assistance

Following the instructions of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the government has distributed corrugated iron (tin) sheets and cash to families devastated by recent hailstorms and Kalbaisakhi winds in Eluari Union, Phulbari.

The relief distribution took place on Thursday afternoon at the Upazila complex. According to local administration sources, the special General Relief (GR) allocation included 100 bundles of tin and 300,000 BDT. This follows an earlier distribution where 3,600 affected families each received 25 kg of rice, totaling 90 tons.

The program was moderated by Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mizanur Rahman, with Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Samiul Islam attending as the chief guest. Local leaders and representatives, including Eluari UP Chairman Principal Nabiul Islam and Phulbari Press Club President Abu Shahid, also spoke at the event.

The assistance comes after a severe storm on April 7 caused widespread damage to homes and crops across three wards in Eluari Union.
