Body of unidentified man recovered from canal in Atgharia

Police recovered the body of an unidentified man from a canal in Atgharia upazila, Pabna, on Thursday morning.

Locals spotted the body in a canal in the Jorgachha area of Ekdanta union around 10:30 am and alerted the authorities. Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene to retrieve the remains.

Initial police findings suggest the individual may have drowned two to three days ago.

Nazmul Haque, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Atgharia Police Station, stated that locals had reportedly seen the man wandering the area in a mentally unstable state a few days prior to the incident.

The body has been sent to the Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy. Police confirmed that legal proceedings regarding the discovery are currently underway.
