To protect fisheries resources in Bhola, strict surveillance and constant operations by the Coast Guard are continuing. On this occasion, the Coast Guard South Zone has taken all measures to successfully implement the mother hilsa conservation program. To enforce the restrictions, intelligence surveillance is being increased in the coastal and riverine areas and patrols are being conducted 24 hours a day. In addition, miking, leaflet distribution and everyone is being urged to obey the law to increase awareness among fishermen. Meanwhile, on the fifth day of the ban, Coast Guard South Zone members are conducting strict operations in the Meghna and Tetulia rivers of Bhola from Wednesday morning. Coast Guard South Zone Staff Officer Operation Lt. Md. Muttakin Siddiqui said that they have been conducting regular operations and patrolling activities during the main breeding season of Hilsa. They have been distributing awareness leaflets and marking among fishermen in various fishing villages including Bhola Canal in Shibpur Union of Bhola Sadar since Wednesday morning. It is worth noting that since it is the main breeding season of Hilsa, there is a ban on fishing all types of fish including Hilsa in the Bhola River from October 4 to October 25.
