


A boat capsizes in Meghna River in Bhola. 3 fishermen were injured.
The injured fishermen are Md. Al Amin Majhi (40), Md. Monir and Md. Tamim. All the injured are residents of the fenced area adjacent to Bhola Canal in Ward No. 3 of Shibpur Union of Bhola Sadar Upazila.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon at around 4 pm in the Meghna River adjacent to the Bhola Canal Fish Ghat.
Eyewitness Md. Abu Zafar said that in the afternoon, three people in Al Amir Majhi's boat were fishing in the Meghna River adjacent to the Bhola Canal Fish Ghat. At that time, a lighter ship hit their boat. The boat sank with three fishermen. And three fishermen were injured in the collision. Later, they were rescued alive from the river with the help of local fishermen. Among them, Al Amin Majhi was admitted to Bhola Sadar Hospital as his condition was serious. The remaining two were given first aid.
Syed Ashikur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhola Ilisha Naval Police Station, said that he has heard about the matter. However, we are investigating.
