


A significant bomb was safely disarmed 24 hours after its retrieval from a bridge in Faridpur.
On Sunday, at approximately 10 am, members of the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) from Dhaka successfully neutralized the bomb. According to ATU member and police inspector Shankar Kumar Ghosh, it was a potent remote-controlled IED.
The bomb was detonated on the banks of the Kumar River at Goalchamat Bisarjan Ghat after all necessary security measures were taken.
Previously, on Saturday morning, joint forces discovered the bomb concealed in a bag on the southern side of Alimuzzaman Bridge, located in the center of Faridpur city. Following its recovery, the bomb was transported to a secure location.
Officer-in-charge of Faridpur Kotwali Police Station, Shahidul Islam, stated that surveillance in the city has been heightened since the incident. The police are currently investigating the individual responsible for planting the bomb.
