


The Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee in Paikgachha has been reconstituted to strengthen public awareness against corruption and promote integrity among the younger generation.
The nine-member committee was approved through a circular signed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Khulna Divisional Director Md. Fazlul Haque. Rahima Akhtar Shampa, head teacher of Paikgachha Kapilmuni Meherunnesa Girls High School, has been appointed president, while Jaminur Islam will serve as general secretary.
Other members include social worker Md. Nizam Uddin and rural doctor Purna Chandra Mandal as vice-presidents. The remaining members are Yasin Sheikh Bappi, Mahfuzur Rahman, Shukdev Chandra Roy, Mosa. Jasmine Nahar, and Plabon Das.
The committee held its first meeting on Sunday (April 4) at the Paikgachha Banani Sangha Auditorium, chaired by President Rahima Akhtar Shampa. All members were present.
Earlier, on March 12, former president GMM Azharul Islam and general secretary Harekrishna Das formally handed over responsibilities to the new committee.
At the meeting, members discussed plans to expand anti-corruption activities at the upazila level and raise public awareness. They pledged to carry out their responsibly and thanked the ACC and authorities for the reconstitution.
