Police have arrested two men for attempting to enter a shoe factory in Gazipur while impersonating industrial police. A private car with police stickers was also seized.
The arrested are Md. Elias (40) of Bandarban and Md. Arif (40) of Munshiganj. A case was filed on Sunday night, and they were sent to court on Monday.
The incident occurred at Pacific Footwear Industries Limited in the Islampur area of Gazipur City Corporation.
According to factory authorities, at 11:10 am on Sunday, the two men tried to enter the factory gate by posing as industrial police. One of them had a visiting card of a senior police officer, and their car displayed a police sticker.
Suspicious behavior and inconsistent explanations raised doubts. When it was discovered that 15–20 people were creating chaos outside the factory, the authorities called 999. Basan Police Station responded and arrested the two men.
The factory’s security supervisor, Md. Rasel, filed the official complaint. Basan Police Station OC Md. Harun Or Rashid said, “The two accused entered the factory gate by posing as industrial police. The factory authorities detained them and handed them over to police. The car used in the attempt has been seized, and a case has been filed.”
