A mobile court has fined two distribution companies a total of Tk 4.5 lakh for illegally hoarding LPG cylinders and selling them above government-fixed prices in Gazipur.

The joint operation, led by the Gazipur Rice Research Army Camp and the district administration, took place on Saturday between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM within the Sadar Metro Police Station area.

During the drive, an establishment named Janani Enterprise on Niamat Road was found hoarding approximately 3,000 cylinders. The mobile court fined the company Tk 50,000 for the violation.

A second raid was conducted at Khaja Garibe Newaz Steel Bitan in the Desipara area. The court found roughly 15,000 hoarded cylinders on the premises and imposed a fine of Tk 4 lakh.

Executive Magistrate Abu Bakkar Siddique, who led the drive, stated that the action was based on specific intelligence. He emphasized that such operations will continue to protect consumer rights and ensure public safety against price manipulation.
