Chattogram's Shah Amanat International Airport canceled 19 flights on Saturday (April 4) and Sunday (April 5) due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Shah Amanat Airport Public Relations Officer, Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil, said 264 international flights have been canceled since February 28 because of the situation.

The canceled flights include:

  • Biman Bangladesh Airlines: 4 arrivals and 3 departures from the Middle East
  • US-Bangla Airlines: 2 arrivals and 2 departures from the Middle East route
  • Air Arabia: 2 arrivals and 2 departures from Sharjah
  • Salam Air: 2 arrivals and 2 departures from Oman

Despite these cancellations, 13 arrivals and 10 departures from the Middle East operated normally over the past two days.

Engineer Khalil added that flight operations for Salam Air, Air Arabia, and US-Bangla on Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi routes remain suspended. He warned that this disruption could continue until the situation in the Middle East stabilizes and advised passengers to check with their airlines before traveling.
