Gold Prices Drop in Bangladesh After Four Consecutive Hikes

Gold prices in Bangladesh have dropped after rising for four consecutive times, according to a notice issued by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) on Monday (April 6).

The revised prices took effect from 10:00 am the same day.

Under the new rates, the price of 22-carat gold—the highest standard—has been reduced by Tk 2,158 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing the new price to Tk 245,819.

The price of 21-carat gold has decreased by Tk 2,100 to Tk 234,621 per bhori. Meanwhile, 18-carat gold has been reduced by Tk 1,749, now priced at Tk 214,600 per bhori.

Gold produced using the traditional method has also become cheaper, with a reduction of Tk 1,458 per bhori, setting the new price at Tk 163,821.
