


Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Pranay Verma, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Monday, April 6. During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of importing diesel from India through a pipeline.
Prime Minister's Advisor Humayun Kabir shared this information after the meeting at the Prime Minister's Office in the Secretariat.
He said that under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's leadership, the government aims to strengthen ties with India and maintain close relations between the peoples of both countries.
Humayun Kabir added, “The relationship that existed with Sheikh Hasina will no longer continue. Sheikh Hasina’s era in Bangladesh politics is over.” He also noted that many issues between the two countries could be resolved if relations remain positive.
Regarding upcoming visits, he said Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman and the Prime Minister's Advisor will travel to India on Tuesday to attend the Indian Ocean Conference. A meeting with the Indian Foreign Minister and the Minister of Security is also possible during the visit.
